Massive Blast Shakes Odessa, Ukraine

Ukrainian media reported that a massive explosion rocked the city of Odessa in the west of the country at dawn on Sunday after warning sirens went off in the province.

And the Ukrainian newspaper Zerkalo Ndeli wrote: “A powerful explosion sounded in Odessa.”

According to the data of the online air raid map of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, as of 01:05, an air raid alert has been declared in the Odessa region.

According to the maps, the sirens sounded in the Mykolaiv region at 00:50, and in the Odessa region – at 01:05, while in the units that are still controlled by the Kiev troops in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, the sirens sounded twice in a row, the first time at 22 h:56 on the evening of September 2 and the second (this morning) at 00:49.

According to the Ukrainian monitoring channels “Telegram”, at least three explosions were recorded in Odessa, it is expected that the Gayran-2 drones attacked military facilities in the vicinity of the port.

Notably, the Russian army launched missile and air strikes against Ukrainian infrastructure and vital installations from October 10 last year, two days after the attack on the Crimean Bridge, which Russian authorities hold Ukrainian intelligence responsible for.

As the alert map on the website of the Ministry of Digital Development of Ukraine shows, in most or all regions of Ukraine, sirens sound several times a day warning of Russian airstrikes.
