Media uncovers causes behind Ukrainian counterattack’s loss of momentum

The German newspaper Bild reported that the momentum of the Ukrainian counterattack was weaker than expected due to the lack of air defense and aviation.

The newspaper points out: This is one of the critical problems that the Ukrainian counterattack has shown, as there are not enough air defense systems, there are not enough private jets, and what Volodymyr Zelensky has been urging for in recent months is not enough.

The newspaper reports what one of the Ukrainian soldiers said when he complained about the lack of air defense, explaining that when the Russians fire at us from helicopters at a distance of eight kilometers, we do not find weapons capable of responding to projectiles from this distance.

The newspaper notes that the lack of equipment is not the only reason for the slowdown in the Ukrainian offensive.

The newspaper explains that the Ukrainians have so far sent only a small number of troops equipped with Western military equipment to the south and east.

In Ukrainian military circles, they say that the percentage of servicemen equipped with full Western equipment does not exceed 10-15 percent.

The newspaper notes that the desire of Ukrainian soldiers to attack runs into strong Russian defense lines, built “very impregnable.”
