Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov believes that there are rational grains in the statement of former US President Barack Obama about Crimeans’ support for joining Russia.
Commenting on Obama’s statement that many Russian-speaking Crimeans are in favor of the annexation of the peninsula to Russia in 2014, Peskov said: “We see that such rational views emerge from time to time.”
He pointed out that there are germs of rationality in this statement, since there was a very large mass of Western politicians who advocated good relations with Russia and opposed the incitement of Russophobia.
He added: “All Crimeans wanted to join Russia, but not many of them,” Obama said.
