Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said that his country does not recognize the Taliban government of Afghanistan and calls for the formation of an inclusive government in the country.
“We are not satisfied that an inclusive government has not been formed in Afghanistan, and we have informed the current authorities in the country of our position. We do not recognize the current government of Afghanistan and insist on the need to form … An inclusive government … The Taliban is not the spokesman for the will of the entire Afghan people, but only part of it.
He also expressed concern about the conflicts that flare up from time to time on the Iran-Afghan border, emphasizing his country’s desire to promote peace and security.
